Curious Worm is a small, focused electronics engineering studio based in Kerala, India. We take your idea and turn it into real, working hardware — from first sketch to production-ready product.
Curious Worm started the way most good things do — with a problem that didn't have a clean solution. We kept seeing clients with genuinely great hardware ideas get stuck at the execution stage: PCB houses, firmware contractors, and enclosure designers all operating in silos, nobody owning the full picture.
So we built the studio we wished existed. One team that handles every layer of the stack — schematic to enclosure, firmware to production files — so your idea moves from concept to working prototype without falling through the cracks between vendors.
We're based in Kerala, India, and we've shipped hardware for clients across industries: industrial IoT sensors, consumer devices, medical instruments, educational kits, and custom automation rigs.
From one-off prototypes to small production runs
Arduino, ESP32, STM32, PIC, AVR, Raspberry Pi and more
Steady growth since 2022, every project referral-driven
No templates, no off-the-shelf modules forced into your product
These aren't marketing words — they're the constraints we actually operate under on every project.
We don't add features, components, or layers that don't serve the function. Every trace, every line of firmware, every screw boss in an enclosure earns its place or gets cut.
You get all deliverables — Gerbers, BOM, firmware source, CAD files. Your IP stays yours. We don't lock clients into ongoing dependencies they didn't ask for.
If a design can't work, we say so before we take your money. If a simpler approach exists, we recommend it. We'd rather lose a quote than ship something we know will fail.
Every project includes readable schematics, annotated firmware, and assembly notes. The person picking this up in two years shouldn't need to call us to understand it.
The name isn't an accident. We take on projects that push us technically — unusual sensor integrations, tight power budgets, constrained form factors. Boring specs make boring products.
We design for the product's full life, not just the first prototype. Component availability, testability, rework access, and firmware upgrade paths are part of the spec from day one.
A small team with deep specialisation — everyone here has shipped real hardware.
Leads PCB design, system architecture, and client strategy. Has shipped hardware on six different MCU families and still finds debugging oddly satisfying.
Handles bare-metal and RTOS firmware development, BLE/Wi-Fi stacks, sensor integration, and bootloader design. Prefers readable code over clever code.
Designs enclosures in Fusion 360 from PCB outlines to production-ready STEP files. Specialises in FDM tolerances, snap fits, and IP-rated gasket geometry.
We're headquartered in Kerala, India — one of the country's most technically active states. We work with clients globally via async collaboration, and we've shipped products to clients in India, the Middle East, Europe, and Southeast Asia.
Remote-first by design. Every deliverable is digital — Gerber files, firmware repos, CAD exports — so geography has never been a barrier to getting started.
Tell us about your idea — what it should do, roughly what it should look like, and where you are in the process. We'll take it from there.
